Chances are if you started drinking craft beer 10 or more years ago, Rogue had a big hand in that decision. Founded in 1988 by three Nike execs, Rogue has been brewing adjunct beers like Hazelnut Brown Ale and Juniper Pale Ale before they were cool. They also brew a beer called Dead Guy Ale, which has taken home a medal from the World Beer Championships six of the last ten years. Pretty impressive stuff.
So what’s the beer like? Dead Guy is a Maibock-inspired ale, meaning it’s a malt-forward yet clean beer, great for this time of year. A nose of sweet malt leads into notes of toffee and honey, spread over a medium-body with a clean finish. It’s really nice. And today we’re featuring it for Thirsty Thursday!
